No foreign policy terms in this "book of the week."
I read a novel over spring break and I wanted to share it with you. It's really great.
"The Imperfectionists" by Tom Rachman.
It's a debut novel by a young novelist - a series of interlinked short stories about a group of journalists at an English newspaper in Rome. Brilliantly told. A smart page turner.
But a warning: if you are an aspiring journalist, this book might change your mind.

I wonder, are there any German newspapers in Rome? German is such a beautiful laguage, not that Italian is not also a pretty one. I'm tired of all these Anglophiles tauting the English language which is not pretty and highly vulgar. I think that's why all the ignorant,right-wing,foul-speaking,anti-intellectual Tea Partiers in America like it so much.
I agree with you Onesmallvoice, except that Russian is my language of choice although I know that it's very difficult and very seldom taught in Western schools.
