Artists dead at 27

Amy Winehouse just died. She was only 27. She joins "Club 27" - a collection of rock icons who died at this young age.  Who are the other members?

UsMagazine reminds us that the following artists died at 27:

1. Brian Jones

2. Jimi Hendrix

3. Janis Joplin

4. Jim Morrison

5. Kurt Cobain

 

6. Ron “Pigpen” McKernan
Wikipedia has a list of other artists who died at 27.

Eerie coincidence? The pop gods? Is 27 the age when the body just can't tolerate extreme addiction anymore?

A relatively large amount of ink has been spilled on this question. What are your thoughts? Can this list from the U.S. be expanded to include great artists around the world?

    Those aforementioned don't belong to my favourites. Those I like are still young and going strong. Hopefully they wouldn't end up like Amy Winehouse.
    There are no doubt eerie coincidences, especially when there are more of us and many things happen at the same time in different places.
