Certainly there are various sources available on the internet to search for the answers of such questions, i think that there should be a debate on, which of these sources is logically more close to the reality and there could be eyewitnesses and experts to validate those claims and data.

Your suggestion is so obvious. Zakaria only adds to the confusion. Where are the graphics and the history to support either argument or for that matter Zakaria's own assertions, which from his introduction seemed to support Rogoff? Where were his facts? News has become about opinion, not fact. Their is no attempt to accurately inform the public. Why have on "experts" who've spent their careers on a given subject and then stuff them into fifteen minutes of completing sound bites? Somewhere between 1929 and 2011 are all the history and facts that we need to make decisions about our current condition. It has nothing to do with personal opinion, not even Zakaria's.

FALLEN ANGELS in prison and in jails. A new demonic black america has arisen from both the hiphop and antebellum nations and is base on sterptypical images of low class and poverty stricken as well as criminally prone blacks and has replace the black human population in AMERICA who were wipeout during black holocaust during the years between 1968 -2001.It was the rise of the black hiphop nation which glorified black on black violence as well as the wide spread use of racial profiling targeting black americans is what has contribute to the black holocaust. Meanwhile the white feminists and those whites who have long history of embracing white supremacy were trick in beliving that it will be easy to get rid of andre(MARK FOR DEATH) himes, unaware about the power of the HOLY LAMB of GOD in heaven, who has been guarding his life since the day he was born at SHAW AIRN FORCE BASE on APRIL 30 1965, and who will become a living witness to his human enemies.EZEKIEL CHAPTER 36

There is no doubt at all that you Mr. Zakaria are on putin’s payroll – there are so many fascinating leaders worldwide and yet almost every 2nd show you tag this criminal with such admiration that you give me no choice but to drop Hitler in to the equation – your cheering this thug is equal to late 30’s of his sympathizers. I enjoy your show – please stop supporting public enemy of so many in the world.

  4. In Disbelief of David Goodhart

Re: DAVID GOODHART has woken the sleeping giant with some old tones that remind one of the ignorance of a hateful past blaming a people stating "those people" have nothing but a culture of violence while not considering of course, causes for that disharmony. My question is why must he label a color to a socio economic problem. Is he dissatisfied with the overall possessive investment in whiteness while giving little note to his "few white kids" who happen to pick up the black culture of violence, hip hop, etc. You know David, England is not at all innocent of a past for making unqiue causes that have affected Asia, Asia Minor, and even America. Here is a hint, if you ever want to gauge the situation of the present, please read more about the past. It will help. England was not innocent of having a superiority complex back in the day. I hope you will hold thy tongue of such "black" comments. The paradox if you dig deep enough will have roots in your own backyard. This problem involves everyone so please address it as such. Poets write, they don't create a problem, actually they alert you far in advance to one. Why do you believe every oppressive nation first starts by arresting its artists, musicians, and activists to peoples rights? Please be the better person especially on GPS. It's my favorite show on Sundays not True Blood. Comments like that may be well placed there than on here.

The two guests on GPS to discuss the London "Riots" were terrible. One says to blame it on hip-hop culture (sounds like those in the U.S. 55 years ago who said Rock 'n Roll will destroy our youth.). This analysis is shallow and absurb. It also betrays a racism that is intolerant of sub cultures. Your other guest spews out the worn knee jerk response of a facist, "get tough on crime" and again, "the liberals are to blame." Both of these commentors are not worthy of being on, and otherwise, fine program.
    P.S.
Fareed's shilling for Obama was sad and way off the mark. The man has few beliefs and none he is passionate for. I see him as an amoral coward.

I agree with David Chaffee that the two guests on London Riots were really terrible. It is pure racism and nothing else to link the riots to black hip hop culture. What about the high number of white males arrested as paedophiles – do we link that to rock culture? It is this sort of thought process that has created grounds for mistrust, anger and violence. Percieved injustice – both social and econ, lack of values especially social and family values, weak policing and soft criminal justice system on youth crimes have all contributed to the riots. To blame it on a particular culture simply highlights this injustice further.

Krugman and Rogoff segment was fascinating and discomforting at once. Krugman appears to have a clear understanding of the situation we find ourselves in, and logical suggestions pointing the way toward recovery. Rogoff seems to be afraid of the obvious steps out of this deflationary vortex, or as it has been called the second "Great Contraction." He danced around the justifications for stimulus, one minute shrinking from it, the next agreeing, but only for certain programs. The fundamentals still stand. Lack of demand and over-leveraged debt.

How much damage from the UK riots?
    – Back to when? The 90s? The 80s? Or the 70s?

Essentially we’re talking about 3 generations of forgotten sections of society. Forgotten while we all chased the glorious aspirations of capitalist dreams, raping the planet to leach soaring profits from society and holding it ransom in the pockets of the very, very, very few.

What cost all the lost lives, broken families, poverty struggles, debt defaults, reclaimed homes, bailiff hours, police shifts, prison years, drug addictions, aborted and adopted children, project accommodation, lost education, uninsured damages, sub-standard or even illegal healthcare, isolated existence, lives on the streets, broken values and painful realization that YOU are not a celebrity, YOU are not famous, YOU are not ever going to be rich, YOU cannot afford anything you want. YOU are not part of the very aspirations you worship. YOU will not make it. YOU are not included. YOU are nothing... What cost?

Now these people are making their voice heard we're all so very surprised. Really?

So we've been doing what we've been doing for so long without knowing the consequences? Surely you knew?

Come on... You knew, deep down you must have known what the real cost of your upper middle class existence is. If you’ve bought anything ‘Organic’, you know about real costs. If you own anything ‘Made in China’ you know. If you know what sustainability is – YOU KNOW.

If you’re reading this, you know. Time to raise your hand.

"Karl Marx had it right," Roubini said in an interview with wsj.com. "At some point capitalism can self-destroy itself. That's because you cannot keep on shifting income from labor to capital without not having an excess capacity and a lack of aggregate demand. We thought that markets work. They are not working. What's individually rational...is a self-destructive process."

He was talking numbers – but the truth holds for societal impact of the kind of blinkered reality we have created for ALL.

Time to rethink what we're all actually doing. We're chewing up the planet and now, apparently, (shock horror) we've been chewing up our own populations.

Oh and do continue to look on with disapproving judgment all you Western nations, ‘Poor form UK’. But I think that very soon, we'll all be scared of what our own neatly demographically ordered C2D 'lower classes' will do next...

    Maybe the US next?

    Baltimore I guess.

I too thought the comments made by the two guests speaking about the London protests were totally untrue, racist, full of class discrimination, and frankly, unbelievable stereotypical uneducated rhetoric! Really! I watched it twice because I couldn't believe anyone would ever say something like that! And why would Mr. Zakaria even have them on the show? Are these 2 guys indicative of anyone's opinions in the UK? I still can't believe what I heard...

    Chris,
I agree with you about that one guy who supposedly had/has something to prison psychology or whatever. He said that public drunkeness was easy to deal with. Huh, it goes beyond the night of getting drunk. How about the next night and the next, and the next. That isn't easy for society and shouldn't be treated "easy to deal with." The costs society has to pay for people drinking excessively is staggering(family, car accidents etc...). Getting high on marijuana is much "easier" to deal with. Fareed is stupid for not responding with such a stupid comment from his guest. One of the worst segments I've ever seen on GPS.

    1/6 is a fraction, 17% is a percent. Per-cent meaning out of 100.
