World reacts to America's promised U.N. veto

Editor's Note: Every week, the Global Public Square brings you some must-read editorials from around the world addressed to America and Americans. The series is called Listen up, America!

Israel – Diminishing American power means Israeli leaders have a “small window of opportunity” for an agreement, writes Leon Hadar in the Tel Aviv-based Haaretz.

“The failure to defeat the Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan, the specter of a nuclear Pakistan turning into a failed state, rising concerns about the decline of Iraq into a civil war after the U.S. withdrawal, the growing power of Iran and its regional satellites, the threat that the Arab Spring is posing to regimes that were willing at least to accept the U.S.-backed status-quo and the deadlocked Israel-Palestinian peace process − all these are clear indications that the era of Pax Americana in the Middle East is over.”

Lebanon – “Obama is resoundingly and definitively correct when he says there is no short-cut to a durable peace,” says an editorial in the Beirut-based Daily Star. “But the task isn’t impossible.”

“Popular uprisings have broken out in a number of Arab countries, where people have been paying attention to what Washington has said and done. For the most part, they have been disappointed, and they are certainly going to be disappointed by Obama’s latest stance on the region, a flagrant declaration of bias toward Israel and the kind of “same old” policy that has even less value in a year of dramatic change, the kind of change that Obama himself once promised.”

Saudi Arabia – “Et tu Obama?” is the headline in an editorial from the Jeddah-based Arab News.

“In his own words, Obama sought a “new way forward” with the world’s Muslims, reaffirming the message in his speeches in Ankara and Cairo. The U.S. leader squandered it all at the United Nations on Wednesday, in the ultimate betrayal and sellout of the cause of Middle East peace.”

United Arab Emirates – In a pair of editorials, Abu Dhabi’s National says of the Palestinian statehood bid,

“Nonviolent resistance and appeal to international opinion - which greatly favours the claims of the Palestinian people - pressures Israel in ways that suicide bombers and handshakes on the White House lawn never can."

The second editorial adds,

“The Palestinian Authority could have explained this U.N. bid much better, most importantly to its own people. As Israel arms its security forces and settlers in anticipation of violence, there is a danger that violence during Palestinian protests could undo whatever progress is made at the United Nations.”

Australia/Turkey/Oman – “[B]eing on the wrong side of history is never a comfortable position,” writes Australia’s former foreign minister in an op-ed for Project Syndicate, published by Muscat-based Times of Oman and Istanbul-based Zaman, among other news outlets.

“And that is exactly where the U.S., Israel, and its closest friends –including my own country, Australia - will be if they resist the tide of international sentiment in favour of moving now to recognise Palestinian statehood.”

Jordan/Canada –“[I]t is becoming harder and harder to believe that the United States is capable of negotiating a peace between the parties,” writes member of the Jordanian royal family Prince Hassan bin Talal in the Toronto-based Globe and Mail.

“To anyone on the outside looking in, including those of us who are good friends of America, the disconnect between rhetoric and action can only mean one thing: that the U.S. can’t be relied on to guarantee Palestinian rights as assiduously as it does Israeli rights, and that it lacks the heart and moral conviction to be a sincere and impartial partner for peace.”

Peace is not going to be found in the destruction of Israel. The Palestinian leader claims to want peace while knowingly allowing and even protecting Hamas and other terrorists that have done nothing but destroy any opportunity at peace. Why does everyone at a time like this seem to to forget that missiles and attacks against Israel have been happening for a very long time? When yesterday the President of Iran still stands on his anti-semitic views pretending to be even the very model for democracy that we all know he and his leadership stand for anything but democracy. Why do we listen and today pretend that his pretext has to do with the Israel/Palestine conflict? To allow terrorists to dictate to the world how our business will be done is to allow terrorism as a way of doing business to be a part of our democracy. We have already given up much of our freedom in order to protect ourselves from terrorism. Our people have become disheartened to the point that they no longer have the values this country was founded on. We are a nation of fools and I'm afraid the Arab world may be correct in assuming we are a nation full of sin. We have become our own worst enemy and they know that a nation such as ours can no longer stand on it's principles and will fall apart from the inside. This is what I believe to be the end of the idea of freedom and the beginning of a new great war. If Pakistan or any other nuclear country attacks Israel then America will have no choice but to respond. And Pakistan got it's nuclear technology from China many years ago. Our new great enemy at the gates will be China and none of you can yet see this because you are blinded by what you think is peace. This is the beginning of the greatest war man has ever known and fire shall rain down from space to destroy mankind as we know it. I just hope I can find a good hiding place. LOL.

Israel has there own neuclear weapons , enough to destroy the world. That is exactly what will happen if one bomb is dropped in one part of the world it willlead to a chain reaction.

Nonsense! If Israel wants to use its nuclear weapons, go ahead! After having been underdogs for centuries and victims of Holocaust, they might as well rise up and teach the world how to fear them!
"Diminishing American power means Israeli leaders have a “small window of opportunity” for an agreement", the author Leon Hadar in the Tel Aviv-based Haaretz, has all reasons to worry that Israel has an outlier as ally in the international community.

Where do you people come from. You all come across as fools. For Israel to use nuclear weapons on any of it's neighbors is like California nuking Texas. They would devastate themselves as well. The water supply is already horrible. Second, the world would respond with wars on war. What! You think you want be touched where you are. Say goodbye to jobs and the life you living as you know it. There will be no more economic system. Forget the Great Depression. Bye Bye to economic system and say hello to a NEW WORLD ORDER! Because it is going to take a new order to form in order to get things going. Marshal law will be the norm all over the world. You know what? You all need to shut up and think about things deeply and not spit out non sense

        j. von hettlingen... Israel, probably, has nuclear weapons and so does the US, Russia, Britain, France, China, Pakistan, India and even North Korea. None of these countries WANT to use nuclear weapons unless as a last resort when there is no other way to stop aggressors from destroying these countries.

Haha, So Palestinians not want peace, Netanyahu claim that he want the peace While Israel don't want stop stealing the palestinians land and build settlments! don't want give palestinians a country! he talked that he need from palestinians before start peace to recognize israel as a jews state while there are at least 5 millions palestinians (christians and muslims) live behind israeli borders (occupation). even UN and US didn't recognize israel as a jewish state, Yes there are a good relation between israel and USA, both are very big racial country
The Jews lost Judea for centuries, starting in 135 CE when Bar Kohkba, the last of many failed Messiahs (including Jesus) led a failed revolt against Rome. The Arabs were pushed out of Israel after WWII, and should not have been. They were undeniably the biggest losers of WWII, even though they had nothing to do with the War at all. The Jews claim the land because of something written down in one of their ancient fairy tales. The Christians are OK with that, for their own selfish reasons. They are the fair-weather friends of the Jews, but they secretly despise them. How loving. The whole thing is a travesty. Ban religion. It's toxic.

@ BASSEM – What nonsense! 76 countries in tjhe UN voted for the DUAL state of Israel AND Palestine in 1947. [America voted for it too!]
Israel accepted statehood – Palestine turned it down because they wanted the whole lot And that's still what they want.

Palestinians REFUSED statehood but the Israelis didn't throw the Palestinians out – the ARAB WORLD DRAGGED THEM OUT. The Muslim Palestinians were made to leave with nothing – leave it all behind. Then the arab world blamed the Jews. Now Where have we heard that before?

The ignorant on here who repeat propaganda like a bunch of demented parrots need to look up the facts.

Semper, you suggest people read history but your comment contains no factual history...was that intentional? History is very clear; Zionists who led the colonization very clearly outline the plan to drive all non-jews out in their private writings. And that is exactly what has been done and that plan continues to this day, why else do they resist the fundamental human Right of Return? History also tells us that Justice and Law eventually trump Violence and Terror, which is what Israel is relying upon to sustain this injustice. Pray the extremists who lead Israel are removed before the state itself is ruined.

You can't make a people love you by putting a BOOT on their neck.

When Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's forces lost control of the Gaza strip to the Islamist Hamas group, Bush told Israel he made a mistake and to give Fatah the money they have been holding up from the Palestinians and stop trying to starve them to death.

It is really screwed up now that Hamas is building strength and gaining world support just like what happened in the failed Lebanon invasion and Hezbollah win.

Israel turned Gaza into a five mile wide prison camp. Israel built walls, guard towers, and controls who comes and goes into the West Bank. They cut off food and only allow three hours of electricity and water a day. They use cluster bombs against woman and children.

Watch Israel and their right-wing lackeys to vilify Palestine and deflect their Human rights violation.

That is how they have successfully used propaganda for 60 years to deceive Americans.

I would pick up a gun and fight too if I was forced to live like that.

        September 24, 2011 at 4:15 pm |
      • Semper Fidelis

@FRED MERTZ – Considering you Americans wet your collective pants and go into a total self–obsessed panic whenever you have a yellow alert for terrorist attacks, you've got a damn cheek criticising the Israelis for protecting themselves against daily attacks. There were 200 rockets fired on Israel last month [28 days] you ignorant man.

They cleared the Gaza strip to ward off attacks. Your Yanks checks at airports etc border on paranoia. But that's OK because YOUR safety is threatened? S0d the Israelis?

The Israelis kept the arab world in check for 40 years. You paid them WHY? Because without them you wouldn't have had oil; you wouldn't have had industry; you'd be a third world country.
Just think before you speak and don't make America look any more stupid than it does at the moment

Strangely enough I love America and the great people on here with their integrity, historical knowledge and concern for all – especially the Israelis are the American people who will restore America to her former glory Bless you.. I apologise ONLY to you not the trolls who make me very angry.

Israel was willing to give the Palestinians west Jerusalem a few years ago, as well as evacuating some of the settlements. The Palestinians rejected.
In the meantime, you have Hamas, a UN recognized terrorist organization, that controls parts of the Palestinian areas. The settlements should be part of the negotiations, not a negotiation for the negotiation.
Israel has every right to close its borders, the same way the U.S, Canada, Breat Britain, France, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey and all other countries of the world have the right to close and maintain their borders.
Unfortunately, Israel is being used by regressed Muslim countries. Nobody said anything when over 10,000 Palestinians were murdered in Jordan in one bloody September a few years ago, but it's ok to go against Israel for protecting the borders. Palestinians had equal rights 20 and 30 years ago. I lived in Israel – saw and experienced it.
Israel gave them land and money, but it was never enough. They are terrorists and pigs who try to get more than they can swallow and then looking for global support for their terrorist groups. A real shame.

history teaches that nations that possess great warships, vast armies, and other powerful tools of destruction, cannot resist unleashing them, even when they must realize it is hardly in their best interests to do so. All it takes is a grudge well nursed, and a spark, to soak the earth with blood and blanket it with cinders.

Israel is always simply defending its borders and citizens. The Palestinians have carried out deadly terrorist attacks against innocent people in 27 countries around the world, not including Israel.

The day before the IDF forces boarded those ships, the people of the flotilla were chanting songs that invoked the killing of Jews and called for Martyrdom. All filmed by al-Jazeera. The 9 killed were not innocent people, they were criminals.

Netanyahu gave Abbas the keys of Gaza as a good will gesture. The keys were given with an invitation to talk PEACE. The Palestinians took the keys but completely ignored the invitation. Again!

Hamas warned Abbas NOT to go to the UN and NOT to ask for statehood because it would mean dealing directly with Israel and . as they themselves said – they will NOT do it. Abbas is now a marked man!

In 2000 and 2008 [ and 4 other times since 1948 ] the offer and land in exchange for peace talks have been turned down on WORLD TV by the Palestinians.

So what part if ISRAEL IS WILLING TO MAKE PEACE con't you understand??????????

destruction of Israel – will only eventuate if Israel insists on the continuing destruction of Palestinian hopes – it is that simple.

Israels supporters are rescinding that support in droves because now rather than the oppressed Israel has become the oppressor – it has become what it hated – Terror and Suppression of Other.

Like all oppressors it does not see its hands around the throats of Other but its own interests being served in a Holy war

Peace is a state of health and abundance for both Palestinians and Israelis. The Palestinian leadership of either the PLO or Hamas has not demonstrated such a desire for health and abundance for their own people let alone the Jewish state. When the Palestinian people find leaders who will promote a side by side solution that works toward health and abundance for both peoples will there be peace.

markjuliansmith: One side can start and maintain a war. BOTH sides are necessary for peace. As long as the Palestinians are willing the war to continue it will continue and more Palestinians will be killed as a result. If and when the number of dead Palestinians will satisfy those still alive they will ask for peace. Israel will gladly agree.

What the hell are you talking about?
How can you even compare the Israel-Arab conflict to Holocaust?
Do you see Israel arresting Arabs and sending them off to gas chambers or staging mass executions? Are Arabs excluded from working in government jobs?
Sure people die, sometimes innocent people – but that's war, sadly it's never pretty and yes I also hope that one day it stops and a solution is found. But that won't happen at the expense of the destruction of Israel – which is sadly the only solution the Arabs are willing to work towards. It's easy to point the finger at Israel, especially when backed by millions of other Muslims – but the reality on the ground is that Palestenians aren't so much interested in their state, but rather in the disappearance of the Israeli one.
And don't you dare compare the Holocaust which was systematic murder by one country of it's own loyal citizens to a war that is going on between two hostile states.

It's toxic.

Few people believe Israel's version of the story anymore because of it's own actions. You can't board ships and murder people and still expect the people of the world to believe your side of the story. You can't launch massive, obliterating attacks, slaughtering and turning innocent people into hamburger and expect the world to hear your voice. You can't keep building in areas where the world has said you can't build and expect the world to understand your version of reality. Israel is it's own worst enemy....... it is destroying itself through it's own actions. The world is connected now.....and we know what you have been doing.
Of all people who should know better because of your own history. It is sad to watch.

What makes Israel so special for the United states Government?

Is money control (banks and stock exchange) and political sellout what makes this flagrant and blind sighted bias possible for Israel?

Remember what happened right after WW1? and what caused the rise of extremism of Nazis in germany and lead to the holocaust in WW2? Germany was ransacked by its neighbors after the loss of the first war. Germany was a poor nation and it's citizens could not survive! When "Foreign investments" in germany were increasing using money that was stolen... and those "investors" bought their way in german politics and economy, that triggered the rise of the ugly side of humanity that are the Nazis!
Nothing happens without a reason. When a small group of people manipulates and forces their way on the vast majority of the American citizens, they could expect extremism to arise... Today America is suffering because of those banks and the biased policy towards Israel. Looking at the likes of perry talk I could feel he's more jewish than jews themselves? why this fervor? is it because he knows he needs to show his closeness with Israel to win? Where did the American democracy that Franklin and others taught us?

The United states is digging itself in debt and has become enslaved... maybe it's time for the people to speak like elsewhere in the world?

      God Bless America!

@Joe – It's quite simple. You supported Israel because they were the only people on the planet who could keep the arab world in check. If thay hadn't there would have been mayhem in Arabia.
By doing that, they assured YOUR greed for unlimited oil supplies was satisfied. If you hadn't had the oil you would have had no industry; wealth or the power that you so crave.

So thank Israel on your bended knees America, that because of them – YOU are not a third world Nation.

In 1947 the UN proposed a DUAL State for Israel and Palestine. A UN vote was taken and 76 countires voted for it.

Israel accepted the Statehood – The Palestinians refused it because they wanted the WHOLE country.

The Palestinians have a home in Jordan. The Jordanians welcomed them but they wouldn't go.

The Palestinians originated in CRETE; they're not even arabs. Why don't they take over Crete then?

Jews have been in The Holy Land for 4,000 years. Don't argue. Recently Archaeologists found the remains of King David's palace in the Holy Land. They also found Jewish artifacts dating back 4,000 years in the same place.

Israel belongs to the Israelis; it always has; and it always will.

Sorry I've got to say this. In 1948 Israel asked the Palestinians to stay and live together. They even offered to show the their irrigation methods to enrich their land and grow their own food.
The Palestinians were willing. But the arab nations – who had supported the Nazis – yanked them out. They made them leave everything they owned and go into the wilderness with nothing.

Suleiman – You Sir, as much as I hate to say it, need to look the truth straight in the eye, then tell it. Stop blaming Israel. If people get killed it's because your "men" attack Israel then use your people as human shields.

You KNOW that Israel issues warnings before they retaliate to your attacks. So it's your fault if you don't protect your own.

You might also want to talk to the reasons why in 1948 Israel was formed. It had to do with some dude named Hitler and that he took so much from so many. The Arab world supported him, rallied behind him. Only in the US can Arabs and Jews live together in peace and that is because if either one of them start their nonsense here, it will be dealt with like children are dealt with in nursery school.

America is not responsible for this nonsense and that these guys have centuries of history together. That they cant just be human together and act like humans, understand and cooperate. Obama needs to stand there and tell them both to grow up and leave them to solve their problems. Its not an American issue and not one that we should take umbridge in remotely trying to resolve.

A bit of history for mister suleiman, after 1967 EVERYONE accepted resolution 242, EVERYONE BUT............ the palestinians, wow, what a surprise, hey I didn't make this up, go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resolution_242 Of course almost 30 years later, after a lot of damage had been done from their side, and seeing they're going no where, then they accepted it, too little, too late, now they are eating the meal they have cooked up for themselves for the last 60 years or so with the help, recipes, and components provided by their "real friends" in the middle east.

      • e suleiman

@res242 ; A bit of history, while Israel claimed to accept it in 1967, it was nothing more than political play, they never had the intention to apply it, and WHY should they, when they know they can get away with anything with backing of the us and it's dollars? israel had constantly restructured reality on the ground to make it impossible to implement 242,building hundred of settlements on occupied land, all non legal by international laws, accepting a resolution while lying about it is much worse crime .

Res242: I'm sorry to disagree but in 1967 the ONLY country in the Middle East who accepted UN Resolution 242,was Israel. It was Israel who offered to returnvALL lands captured during the Six Days War to the Arab states and it were the Arabs who responded by the "Three No's" resolution of the Arab League. This Resolution is still current, by the way...

I am English and I can tell you that I am ashamed of the way the British treated the Jewish settlers in Israel in the 1900s.
If you knew as much British military history as we Brits you would KNOW that the bombing of the King David Hotel was the work of freedom fighters [like you call the Jihadists, Yes?] And do you know why they were fighting?

[1] Because the British held the Jews on Cyprus in a concentration camp. So, in fact, they brought them from concentration camps in Germany and put them in one on Cyprus [including many children]. Behind barbed wire!

[2] The Balfour Declaration promised the Jews the whole of Palestine; until the arabs threatened to cut off their oil supplies then the British sold the Jews down the river again; they wouldn't let them go to Israel. So why the he-ll wouldn't they fight? I would!

[3] The British asked the UN to sort it out so 76 countries voted for a dual State. Israel accepted. Palestine wanted the lot so they refused.

The Jews/Israelis retaliate. They very rarely initiate.

You are wrong about one thing Israelis retaliate after instigating....

Who was behind the massacre of palestinian women and children in lebanon.. sabra and shatilla ring a bell to you? Ans. Ariel Sharon... the vegetable today.

A small detail about that massacre.. wiki Elie Hobeika:
"In 1983, an Israeli state inquiry named Hobeika as the man who personally directed the Sabra and Shatila massacre. In June 2001, Chibli Mallat, a left-wing Maronite lawyer, filed a case against Ariel Sharon in Belgium under a law that allowed foreigners to be sued for crimes against humanity. Just before his death, Hobeika publicly declared his intention to testify against Sharon about his involvement in the Sabra and Shatila massacre in the Belgian court. Josy Dubié, a Belgian senator, was quoted as saying that Hobeika had told him several days before his death that he had "revelations" to disclose about the massacres and felt "threatened". When Dubié had asked him why he did not reveal all the facts he knew immediately, Hobeika is reported to have said: "I am saving them for the trial". At a news conference, he said, "I am very interested that the [Belgium] trial starts because my innocence is a core issue."

If you remember history, Who triggered the second intifada after a controversial visit? ans. Ariel Sharon... may God provide him full conscience while he lays in his new prison.

Who were behind the founding of the terrorist Hamas movement? ISRAEL... don't be so shocked. If Israel wants something it will always get it! So Hamas could have been eradicated a long long time ago!!! They just stood by and used them to divide the palestinians and conquer their land...

The list just goes on and on and on... Tell me do you feel proud of these vile tactics?

Yes, Ariel Sharon "dared" to visit the holiest Jewish place, the Temple Mount, declaring "I came in peace"... Give them their country back already. I am not anti-semitic but I just don't understand why we support Israel so unwaiveringly!! Why don't we demand more peace from their side as well?? It just upsets me because any other nation in the world acted like Israel (building "settlements" outside their borders) we would invade them!! I also am not saying I agree with the Palestinian extremeists in any way either. They certainly don't do much to help their cause but we need to let them have their land without worry of encroachment from Israel.

It's time to let Palestine and Israel figure out how to live side, by side. Messy, uncertain, possibly sorrow, sadness, pain, joy, frustration- YES. But only they (Israelis and people of Palestine) can decide. Everyone claims to want peace, no different than US Congress wants to pass a budget and can't. The decision must be local absent of world powers meddling.

The PLO is the longest continuous terrorist organization in the world today. The middle east has been fighting a war on terror much longer than the rest of the world, however the PLO's acts of terroism have not been limited to the middle east alone. They have been a world wide terror organization for a long time. They don't want peace, they don't accept peace. They should be ignored or destroyed. They should not be rewarded. The arabs of palestine have two nations to live in already, Israel and Jordan. There will be no others.

Mark... Palestinevis a piece of land between the Jordan river and the Mediterranean. Currently there is one sovereign state in Palestine, Israel, and two quasi-states in the West Bank and Gaza. There are about five million Arabs living in Palestine. These people are not going anywhere. This means that the Arab of the West Bank and Gaza will either have a state of their own or, alternatively, they will become citizens of the single state of Palestine which will inevitably become another Arab state with no Jews allowed.

@mark, even though I disagree with a lot of the methods the PLO used in the past, it pales in comparison to what the longest serving terror state on earth has done through the years, tens of thousand of prisoners without due process, torture, illegal wars in the name of self defense, destroying people home as a punishment, ISRAEL is the definition of terror!!
read about Dair Yaseen, read about the atrocities israel committed in the war of 1956, read about the rule of prime ministers Yetshak Shamir And Manaheem Beigin in the massacres of air Yaseen and the bombing of hotels in Jerusalem, you do know that israel stands as the one state on earth most defiant to UN resolutions. so cut the crap mark !

Zionism in itself is racism and apartheid, people on both sides want to live in peace, they have been for centuries.
Extremists, Jews, Christians, and Muslims would rather sacrifice people than leave in peace, as long as it is not them, but someone else.

Zionism is the Jewish nationalist movement declaring that the Jews, just like other people, HAVE A RIGHT FOR SELF-DETERMINATION (a sovereign state). This means that ANTI-ZIONISM declared that Jews (unlike other people) DO NOT have a right for self-determination. Therefore, ANTI-ZIONISM is DISCRIMINATION of Jews. DISCRIMINATION of people based on their ethnicity or religion is RACISM by definition.

Any Nationalist movement is a racist movement.
If you say zionism is not racist then nazism is not racist since it was a nationalist movement.
Please think of you say, and let Jews, Christian, Buddhists, Chineses, Muslims, just humans leave in peace

Kr... Racism is DISCRIMINATION of people based on race, religion or ethnicity. In other words, racism is a claim that some people are BETTER THAN OTHERS (for example, Arians beling BETTER than the rest) or WORSE THAN OTHERS (for example, Blacks being WORSE than the rest). In contrast, nationalism is a claim saying that people are EQUAL and deserve EQUAL rights. In this particular case, Jewish nationalism declared that the Jewish people dereved EQUAL rights with others, in this case, the Arabs. In the Israeli-Palestinian conflict no one questioned the right of the Arabs for self-determination. The Jews said that they had EQUAL rights with the Arabs while the Arabs (and YOU) maintained that they DID NOT.

The US policy has been bias and slanted toward the Jews as they have moved the goal post time and time again, never intending to negotiate in good faith and they build illegal settlements. To be frank the US foreign policies have created so many problems in the Middle East, Asia and South America for the sake of its own national interest and the hell with ALL others. Israel foolishly thought that it could kick the unbalanced negations down the road forever....now they and the US are isolated by the world as the US is weak and broke. The US reign of terror around the world will come to an end just as Rome! Finally, I do not blame the Palestinians for fighting with any means necessary to force out the illegal occupation and oppression of the Jews. The US and every other country would do just the same if they were illegally occupied....period!

    Keystone,

I agree with much of what you say and have been saying myself that I see many parallels between Roman empire/US empire. In the US football is as Games were to Romans: keep looking at this right hand–never mind the left. Simply diversions to capture citizenry attention while the culture and it's structure went down the tube. As to being 'frank', we call that honest where I come from. I have never understood what is meant by 'God's chosen'. Check Ron Paul as he was cut off at one of the debates when he tried to say that the US would not allow a foriegn military base on it's land and that is one of the reasons countries are unhappy/angry with our foriegn policy. Of course your logic as outlined in your statements about the squatter criminals/illegal aliens is perfectly rational....

It's toxic.
