What will be the fate of the notorious Joseph Kony?

Kagame says groups should be working together more to capture the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army, the guerrilla movement notorious for its attacks on civilians and use of child soldiers.
Kony led a failed uprising against the government of Uganda and was pushed out of Uganda in 2006. He has been moving around other countries in the region ever since. Wanted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court, Kony was the subject of a celebrity-backed video that went viral earlier this year that helped make Kony's alleged crimes more widely known.

Although callous and insensitive, it's basically true. One can replace this guy with just another guy many times over. Africa is not stable nor has it been. It's not civilized to any degree unless you consider South Africa which had been under British rule for so long with a large white population and then oddly enough the north which isn't even black people at all, but more so Arabs....and look how stable they are. The guy is likely dead anyway. He hasn't been seen in years. He's not in power of anything. He's just an icon who was taken by this group and millions of people were taken advantage of while they made a quick buck abusing social media and ultimately the media itself when they locked onto it. They are all fools for seriously talking about this as an issue.
What are you talking about??? South Africa has had complete independence from the United Kingdom since 1910. It is very much a sovereign nation in Africa and has equal white European roots from the Dutch.
Again someone who has no facts but relies only on TV. Not only South Africa, which hasn't had white rule in a very long time, but also Equatorial Guinea, which people make more on average than in America, but less than Tokyo, Gabon, Ghana, etc, all are strong countries that are stable. You don't hear of war in any of those countries. When you have people (whites) barge into a place and carve out countries and displace people and rival tribes, then you get ciaos. To say that black nations are failures, is another reason why education in America is horrible. Learn something, other that what you are comfortable with, which is racist dialogue through a PC.

I can't agree with anything that Kony has done - his violence, his use of child soldiers, and so forth but I have to give him this: He is a military genius of the first order. He could not have survived this long if her were not. And I predict: he will never be captured.

If eliminating this guy is that important to you, gather like minded people into a volunteer force, go to Africa and hunt him down. During the Spanish Civil war Americans who were concerned about stopping fascism joined the Lincoln Brigade, went to Spain and actually fought against the fascist. Perhaps you and the others here who advocate sending other people after this guy can step up to the plate for once.

Oh, didn't you hear we're already at war and prepping for another one right now? Anyway, we already have the Army there. Sure, it's a small amount of "advisors"...say a battalion in size. The US military is currently undergoing huge changes. We don't have time for small fish like this. We're prepping for and making huge changes in the Middle East and Asia right now if you don't know already...which I highly doubt you do.

It's easy to get rid of him. Hire a contract mercenary, and offer him $5,000,000 US; and give him 30 days to get rid of Kony. Or better yet, offer $1,000,000 US to whoever can get closest to Kony and get rid of him; just bring us his head, nothing else. He won't be able to effectively run his business, when he fears contact from ANY individual.

Fareed, how long does Paul Kagame want to stay in power? In 2000 the parliament elected him as president. He won presidential elections in 2003 and again in 2010. He's seen as controversial – to his admirers he is an economic visionary and to his critics he is a despot who tolerates no opposition.
Fareed, forget about his being rendered ineffective. Paul Kagame is wrong because Kony terrorizes most of the people found in rural and semi-urban areas of the great lakes region and he is highly mobile. Therefore its easy for a President to say so because he is immuned from attacks by these bandits. Same way many African leaders have remained silent over Al- Shabab, Boko Haram and the new emerging group in Liberia using child-soldiers to terrorize Ivoriens.
Who cares? There's a double standard when it comes to apprehending and bringing war criminals to justice where the likes of Charles Taylor are tried for war crimes and the GWB's of the western world are treated like folk heroes! This world is simply f-up!
