Why the power went off for Pakistan's prime minister

For more Last Look, watch GPS, Sundays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. ET on CNN

Last week, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif found out what happens when you don't pay electricity bills – the hard way.

Electricity is often stolen or unpaid for in Pakistan, as it is in many developing nations. And last week, Sharif directed his Ministry of Water and Power to begin a "zero tolerance" policy toward theft, and to crackdown on failure to pay bills.

Well, the minister of state for water and power agreed, and shut off power to more than 18 government buildings (including Pakistan's version of the White House: where the prime minister both lives and works) for failure to pay large bills.

He told us he did so to show that "nobody was above the law." The lights went off for 48 hours in the prime minister's home, but were restored when the bills were paid.

Hats off to Mr. Sharif for trying – and for finally paying his bills.

Those of you who are old enough to remember the year 1969 will also remember Woodstock, a three day gathering of some of the greatest musical talent of that generation. 2014 promises to bring us Baggerstock, a gathering of the biggest right wing morons, teabillies and trailer trash of this generation. Ted Nugent will bring his guitar and assault weapons. Sarah Palin will play skin flutes.

And the parking lot will be full of 1970 or older motor homes with confederate flags on them.

Leadership by example, anything less than that is hypocritical, at worst fake.

If Sarah Palin consumes Cool Whip, she certainly metabolizes it well.

This was just a political stunt. Nawaz Sharif is under a lot of pressure from Imran Khan whose party PTI is one of the most popular parties in Pakistan and who initiated many structural reforms in the key KPK province. Minister of Power is Nawaz Sharif's nephew and Sharif government is notorious for having more than two dozen family members as part of cabinet and key positions. This type of political gimmickery from Sharif is nothing new to poeple of Pakistan.

America is the root of all terror. America has invaded sixty countries since world war 2.
In 1953 America overthrow Iran's democratic government Mohammad Mosaddegh and installed a brutal dictator Shah. America helped Shah of Iran to establish secret police and killed thousands of Iranian people.
During Iran-Iraq war evil America supported Suddam Hossain and killed millions of Iranian people. In 1989, America, is the only country ever, shot down Iran's civilian air plane, killing 290 people.
In 2003,America invaded Iraq and killed 1,000,000+ innocent Iraqi people and 4,000,000+ Iraqi people were displaced.
Now America is a failed state with huge debt. Its debt will be 22 trillion by 2015.

Non-payment of bills is a big issue in Pakistan, with millions of dollars outstanding. Blackouts are nothing new there because of chronic power shortages and many people are forced to go without electricity for some 12 hours a day. Nawaz Sharif has had a taste of what ordinary Pakistanis face, when electricity and gas were cut off after ordered a crackdown against defaulters.

Pakistan has a President right? So why would the author say that the Pakistani's version of the US White House, is where the PM lives?

Pakistan has both a President and a Prime minister. Many countries with a parliamentary system do.
