On GPS Sunday: Remembering fall of Berlin Wall, is Obama a Republican, and a Syria plan

Watch "Fareed Zakaria GPS," Sundays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. ET on CNN

On GPS this Sunday: First, Fareed offers his take on the implications of the midterm elections and why he believes President Barack Obama still has time to do big things over the next two years – especially in foreign policy.

Then, it is 25 years ago this Sunday that the Berlin Wall began to fall – an event that too much of the world by surprise. Fareed speaks with then-U.S. National Security Adviser Brent Scowcroft and a former top British foreign policy advisor, Charles Powell.

Then, the economy, immigration, politics...How well do you know your world? GPS will share some sobering numbers on just how little many Americans (and others around the world) really know. See how you fair on the quiz here.

And, Fareed speaks with Bruce Bartlett, an economics columnist, author and historian who argued in a recent article in the American Conservative that President Obama is actually a  Republican. He’ll explain why.

Also, the White House appears to have no real solution for the ongoing crisis in Syria. Nor does the Republican Party. But Fareed will talk to a man who says he does – and he has ideas that seem to make a lot of sense.

I'm going to assume that you're talking about the POTUS being GOP. Why not? He's a Muslim, too, according to the people who are paid to tell lies for a living.
He is one of the more conservative Democrats I've seen. But being conservative does not equal being Republican.

I feel neglected when Indian vultures don't swoon on me. Let's try again. The reverse psychology seems to be working.

I suggest that US embark on a new foreign policy that improves relations with China, Pakistan and Iran. The economic power of these countries is a thousand times greater than India's. WRT India, work on a strategy of a USSR type breakup that would yield maximum returns to world's elite nations, India's populace and neighbors.

The bottom line is that we have become blood thirsty. Just imagine the debate over which Navy Seal killed Bin Laden!! I mean who gives a f ukk? I don't. Let us focus on the thousands of other Bin Ladens out there who have emerged with more financing. Are you kidding me?

Valerie Plume said it well. That Navy Seal is a marked man. Capitalism may well be the downfall of America. The lust for money transcends national interests. Oh well.

Hey blog-tard. The only way to improve relations with Iran is to assassinate the old Islamic extremists farts.
Then place a regime that is U.S. friendly and is Iranian people friendly.
Anyone that thinks you can actually reason with blood thirsty Muslim fanatics is naive.

I want to circle back to Ambassador Robin Raphael. 67 years old with a 30 Year Diplomatic career. Just note how silent everyone is!!!!

Typically Wolf Blitzer would have been called in. Cameras rolling all over the neighborhood. NADA. Relative silence.!!!

Only innuendos. Such as "Expert on Pakistan." Really? Is she Lady Osama?

And we are asking what is wrong with American foreign policy? Ask Robin !!!!

The Soviet Union started going broke after U.S. drillers struck oil in Saudi Arabia. Soviet states had supplied 60% of the world's oil supply before Arab states with ocean ports put them out of the oil business.

Capitalism down in America? Now THAT is comical. Free enterprise makes the world go round.
Kim from NK has his people starving.
Kill him, and replace him with a normal human being. Get Nissan, Whirlpool, Reebok, Sprint, and Burger King, just to name a few and get the ball rolling.
Capitalism down. Sheesh. What is wrong with that dude?

We should cut diplomatic ties with India if they don't behave. The trial of the diplomat needs to go forward. I have been informed that Indian Government, behind the scenes, is begging to settle the case. It has asked the US Federal Court to postpone hearing.
What is India trying to hide? What is India afraid of if this diplomat goes to trial? Trial is the only way to exonerate the diplomat. Unless India does not want the facts to come out in public.

This is just a ploy to extract more aid benefits from America. Plus the Indians will cry in front of Americans that Moslems did this and Moslems did that and that you Americans gave Moslems this and gave Moslems that. So give us more and more and more. But don't call it aid. Let us call it something else. Meanwhile we will keep on rayping and bashing our women folk.

All I can say is that the Americans and the world is onto the antics of Indian expats. Cry uncle, while stabbing us in the back. Cry uncle, while they squeeze last ounce of aid from us. Cry uncle, while they break our laws.

We have what we call the American shuffle. We throw the book at ya. Put you on the stand and have a trial. Don't mess with US.

    "
Tonight Al Jazeera America broadcast a new program “The Day Israel Attacked America.” It’s scheduled to repeat at 1 AM and 4 AM Eastern time.
Watch it or record it if you have access to Al Jazeera America!
We have all seen videos and read accounts of what happened that day, June 8, 1967. But this new program claims (I believe) to be the first to include Israeli audio communications during the attack destroying the Israeli and American tales about the attack being an “accident.”
If this were widely broadcast on more traditional American TV channels it should be a game changer."

Al Jazeera will rebroadcast “The Day Israel Attacked America” tonight. For those who cannot get Al Jazeera, someone has put the program on youtube (youtube.com/watch?v=W5v27ZEp3EM). It’s not HD. But there are no commercials, so this version is only 49½ minutes.

Quid pro quo transfer of nuclear technology by USA to third world countries such as India needs to be opposed on moral grounds. Billions of people live in that neighborhood and would be at risk from such catastrophes which I am sure the American people would not like to be a party to.

We are all well aware that that region is prone to floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, massive power blackouts and of course terrorism placing such nuclear installations at tremendous risks.

US Congress is urged to reconsider and cancel all the agreements for the transfer of such technologies due “Force Majeure”.

Modi from India goes to the doctor and says, "I feel terrible."

Doctor says, "go home, get a bucket, p iss and s hit in it for a week. Throw in dead rats and rotting fish. Put a towel over your head and sniff the fumes for three days."

Week later Modi goes back and says, "Doc, I feel wonderful, what was the problem?"

    Doctor, "you were homesick!"
