America’s prospects are promising indeed

By Fareed Zakaria

Two-thirds of Americans believe the country is on the wrong track, a poll number that has not shifted much in three years. The midterm election results were just another reflection of this pervasive discontent. And yet, looking at the rest of the world, what’s striking is how well the United States is doing relative to other major economies. Japan is back in a recession and Germany has barely avoided slipping into one, which would have been its third since 2008. President Obama says the United States has produced more jobs in its recovery than the rest of the industrialized worldput together.

Why is this? Many believe that the American economy has some inherent advantages over its major competitors — a more flexible structure, stronger entrepreneurial traditions and a more demographically vibrant society. Along comes a fascinating new book that says you ain’t seen nothing yet.

For starters, let us get out moral compass back.

The Khmer Rouge trial and guilty verdict sends a loud and clear message to all those leaders who undertook genocides. Payback time.

It is time to stand up Modi of India and send him to The Hague to face trial of murders and genocides in Gujarat et al, India ..... committed against the minorities.

This cannot be forgotten. We profess to uphold international law. Let us walk the talk.

There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Modi should be dragged to The Hague for a trial. The murders he committed will never be forgotten. There are cases against him pending in US Federal Courts. This is just a beginning.

What is taking so long? Thousands have died. How much proof does one need? Do it now !!

      • Mazo

"Thousands have not died" and people die everyday – it is not PROOF of "genocide".

The Indian Supreme Court has already investigated Modi's involvement in Gujarat and found that he is completely innocent and there is no evidence to support any guilt on his part.

That is ALL the prosecution that will occur – the US courts can file charges against anybody, its not worth the dust off Modi's shoes and there is nothing the US Government or the US courts can do about it.

The courts in India are kangaroo courts. Corrupt. Raipists. Even the Supreme Court in India have judges who are raipists. We don't trust them. Hundreds of thousands have died and continue dying due genocide in India. Modi is as guilty as Charles Manson.

The problem with your asinine raving is this little thing called "evidence" – there is ABSOLUTELY ZERO evidence that Modi had anything to do with any "murders" let alone"genocide". Your "wishing it to be true" is absolutely immaterial as no investigation or investigative agency has found any evidence against Modi despite a decade of trying by his political opponents. Nobody has the guts to touch Modi – not only because he is the PM of India but also because it would make them look foolish.

Some desperate degenerates hope and pray to "prosecute" Modi but before you prosecute somebody there has to be a case – not rumors and speculation.

I can't read your lips – this is a written forum.

And there is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING you can do to Modi. He was walking up and down New York just a few weeks ago – and you could do NOTHING, Obama even hosted him for Dinner (TWICE) and you could do NOTHING while MSG was taken over for him.

Anybody who tries to touch Modi will be dust and any court other than an Indian court that touches ANY Indian elected official will become a glass field for our toxic wastes.

NOBODY on planet EARTH can touch ANY Indian elected official without the boot of 1.2 billion people descending on their heads. Hague will be vaporized – as will any punks who think they can "touch" Modi, let alone "Drag" anybody.

Justice is not decided by Europeans or Americans, especially not for India.

      • Mazo

        Yes REALLY.

FED?? LOL Fed me what ?? Hot air and high gas prices ??? Stop inflating your own ego and self importance, its pathetic – India doesn't import a grain of salt from the USA nor does the USA provide a grain of salt to India for free. In fact it is the USA that is BEGGING India to import American agricultural products after India banned all imports due to bird flu. Yet it was the USA that saw this as unfair and ran to the WTO to sue India for "discrimination".

George W Bush, Obama have Fed nobody in India – even the so,called "nuclear deal" has not even produced enough power to light a flash light let alone a tube-light or home.

Spare us this BS about "gave them aid when they were starving" – since India is ENTIRELY self-sufficient and is the largest EXPORTER of food grains be it rice or wheat. On the contrary it is Obama who wants to prevent India from feeding its "starving" by forcing India to sign a bogus WTO agreement that limits the amounts of food India can stockpile!

India doesn't even want American NGO's like Greenpeace etc to operate in India because apart from disruptive activities, they have not contributed a single thing to the Indian economy. India's intelligence services estimated that Greepeace and other similar NGOs through their "activism" have actually prevented 1-2% of GDP growth in India due to foreign funded protests against factories and mining!

The last time India need foreign help to "feed the starving people" was in the 1950s.......

Modi from India goes to the doctor and says, "I feel terrible."

Doctor says, "go home, get a bucket, p iss and s hit in it for a week. Throw in dead rats and rotting fish. Put a towel over your head and sniff the fumes for three days."

Week later Modi goes back and says, "Doc, I feel wonderful, what was the problem?"

        Doctor, "you were homesick!"

The Indian Debacle has overshadowed the European crisis. GDP that has dropped off the cliff (-2% est), budget deficits, collapse of Indian rupiah, rampant poverty, unemployment, FDI reversal, companies leaving town are some of the disastrous events that are threatening the Indian state.

The downward spiralling is so severe that the Indian government has been ulable to control it. Even the Americans have been unable to help and several trips by the treasury secretary were not helpful.

This also has security repercussions for India and US defense secretary and secretary of state, among others, have flown in to counsel India on how to protect its borders with the help of Israel/IDF. Rumors have it that the breakup of India along the lines of Soviet Union is a very plausible scenario that I am sure intelligence agencies all over the world are factoring in their geopolitical stress tests.

Meaningless blather – "morality" is not the prerogative of one person or one group of naive idealists. It is the that which can be quantified and is not subjective on the ideology of those who seek to preach "morality".

Terrorism is rampant in the region in part financed by Indians. We need to revisit our relationship with India. American taxpayers will not tolerate this anymore. We need to take care of our own populace going forward. We cannot be exporting jobs to India or giving it financial or technical handouts. It has become too big to govern or create any value for western countries or even for its own population. India needs to be carved up into smaller independent states to be a viable economically and geo politically.

INDIA: On a Goat and a Stick:

The problem with India is that it is built on a system of cultural and societal values based on Hinduism which is a cult. Nations built on a cult seldom survive in the long run. You can only take it so far based on symbolisms of a goat and a stick with a skinny little man aka gandhi banging boys at night and spinning wheels during daytime.

Like a totem pole, the hinddoou world in India is ladder like and incremental, essentially defined by a caste system. You suppress the underprivileged and seek satisfaction from the pain and suffering you cause. It is nirvana and brings you closer to being in the good books of deities. Very much as taught by Mahabharata

Raipe in hinddoou culture, is the process of hunting the weak, forcing them to submission, and then causing and witnessing their pain and suffering as enumerated in Rig Veda. Thus the inspiration of all evil in that society emanates from hinddoou philosophy that is evil, medieval and dark.

The hinddoous see humans, particulary the weak, as targets of subjugation and domination manifesting as oppression of minorities and raipes of women all in accordance with Ramayana

If you look at the knees of India's hinddoous you will notice scabs. Due to constant bending down! Why? Because look at their 2% GDP. Half of that is due to American aid. Source: OECD: Call centers, H1B visas, food donations, technological aid for energy needs, military aid, low or no interest loans ... Highest of any country, outright financial aid, PR aid, job creation aid....... AID AID AID and more AID.

@Wild Mustang,@Harry @Gary Larouche indeed a very spirited discussion on our aid seeker India. We surely have given it a lot of money but no returns YET. Here is my take on this country.

:::20% of women or 140 million women have been gang rhaped in India

:::60% of men or 420 million men in India think that gang rhaping and burning the wife alive for dowry by spraying kerosene and lighting her up is acceptable.

:::There is a rhape every 2 seconds in India

::: 85% of women in India have been groped, their breasts pulled like pork and a ss fingered

::80% of hinddoous track to rail tracks to defecate in India.

And we give them visas to visit our country? Asking for trouble, I suppose.

The one most successful aspect of recent American foreign policy has been the conquest of India without firing a bullet. That is the beauty of capitalism used as a Trojan Horse! Economic victory! Give them a taste of french fried and they will never settle for onion rings again. USA now owns India Inc. not only economically but also militarily including its judiciary as economic subjugation ultimately leads to total domination.

Now these same cult hindoo people are busy slaughtering each other and ethnically cleansing all the other minorities including Christians and Muslims.
