Watch"Fareed Zakaria GPS," Sundays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. ET on CNN
On GPS this Sunday: The escalation of violence between Israel and Hamas has made many wonder: Is this the dawn of the third intifada? And how does it relate to the other fires now burning in the Middle East?
Fareed convenes a panel to discuss the issue that includes Council on Foreign Relations President Richard Haass, Wall Street Journal columnist Bret Stephens, Shibley Telhami, author of The World Through Arab Eyes: Arab Public Opinion and the Reshaping of the Middle East, and Chrystia Freeland, a member of the Canadian parliament and former top editor at the Financial Times and Reuters.
And, the crisis between Russia and the West over Ukraine may not be making the headlines at the moment, but it is far from over says Sweden's foreign minister, Carl Bildt.
Plus, why was a French bank fined $9 billion by the U.S. government? Fareed explains how the United States is wielding a unique weapon that is the economic equivalent of a killer drone.
Also, Washington is dysfunctional and can't fix the student debt problem. But GPS will look at a place in America that has figured out a fix in the latest installment of our Where America Works series.
How about an optimistic TV spot, perhaps quoting some UN notable, about the warming relationship between Palestinians and Israel?
You want FANTASY news @ Joey? Lol

Bret Stephens is wrong about the administration not expecting the response to the Bergdahl recovery. They knew exactly what would happen. The less than responsible press and pundits would lash out at the return in a fashion solely designed to discredit the administration. The response showed how completely un-American many have become as it relates to anything the administration does. Sure Bergdahl is likely at fault, but it was a disgrace to see how his return was presented. The 5 TB in Qatar were treated as heroes, and we had people wanting to kill Bergdahl and his father. And the administration proved how far the country has sunk and that was by design. Stephens is wrong.
I agree why is that right wing tool on GPS? He has nothing to contribute except bad mouthing President Obama and he uses B$ talking about 'grownups' and all the other kool-aid buzz word the right loves to drink. GPS should be able to find a real guest instead of this a-hoIe
what the west has to understand is that hamas represents Palestinians and they are proud of it , its not a terrorist organization working against the peoples will . and they have no interest in targeting civilians – other then the illegal settlements on Palestinian land – , and if Israel really wants to stop the violence then they should stop the occupation including all crimes against the Palestinians such as the demolishing of homes and the building of settlements and the imprisoning and provoking muslims all around the world by closing the Jerusalem mosque front of prayers .
Interesting that it said "the ARAB view" in the main blog. Totaly IGNORING the facts of the murders of Israielis by willfull attacks INTO Israiel by them over several years. And the constant rockets being launched to kill as many as possible by the palistinians in first place which is reason for Israiels retaliations. That FACT is being ignored in the media. Twisted around from terrorist targets hit to suddenly "innocent civilians" being killed. If your neighbor started tossing hand grenades in the back yard at your home where YOUR FAMILY has lived for more than 60 years. Would YOU do nothing to stop it?? Dont think so.. If they STOP the constant rockets. Wont get homes blown from under them. There is 2 sides to a coin.. Not 1 like the reporters are trying to bias opinions towards.. We are NOT STUPID and see it ourselves..
