I think it's time we sat back and let the Arabs take care of Iraq and Syria. Why should we put our aircraft and people at harms way to defeat Isis if the Iraqi army doesn't want to or care too? I think our President is wise NOT to put men on the ground. Why???? If the Iraqi army doesn't want to fight and Turkey just wants to kill Kurds. Let them, let's get out of there!!!. Fareed has veen a victim of hindoo atrocities in India. Poor guy could not find his roots in India. The hindoos erased his past. Because his family was subjugated by Hindoos. They were harassed. The biggest problem is the fact that we don't know what we're doing. That's right. We don't. Currently there's a bombing campaign against ISIS. Is that a solution? No. In fact, bombing is only a short term solution (such as rescuing the Yazidi Kurds). When it comes to a long term plan, we have nothing. Nobody knows what to do, yet we're there bombing in the hopes that ISIS will be defeated. When did such strategy actually work? Did it work in Yemen, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Pakistan etc? There's no doubt that troops on the ground is the only solution, but the Kurds are getting annihilated and the Iraqi army simply refuses to fight (primarily due to most of them being Sunni Arabs). As such, everyone expect Turkey to step in, but it's not that simple. The fact is, no one wants to get involved in that mess. Especially with ground troops. Expecting another country to step in is simply unrealistic and unfair. The reality is that eventually, we'll get involved with troops on the ground one way or another. Because that is how right wing governments try to solve problems (with War). The conflict in Iraq and Syria is an international nightmare, thanks to Bush and his cowboy diplomacy. Instead of blaming the failed policies of the past, the media blames Islam as the source of the problem. In fact, the root of the problem is too many failed policies in the Middle East over many years due to foreign intervention. These drone strikes, air bombing campaigns and deciding what is right and what is wrong for a region we know little about is the reason behind all this mess. This constant interference where we don't belong... Is ISIS a threat to the US? Not at all. At least not anytime soon. They're not exactly invading from Mexico are they? But the neocons seem to think so. "The imminent threat of ISIS is real and must be dealt with! We must bomb them out of existence!!". Well, I hate to break it to you, but you're wrong. Just as you were wrong when you decided to invade Iraq in 2003. The never ending cycle of violence never ends, because the rich and corrupt politicians think that bombing is the only solution. Think about it.. Was there ISIS and al-Qaeda in Iraq before the US invasion? Now, thanks to this latest bombing campaign, there will be more.
