The worst five states in India in terms of communal violence incidents per million population are Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Kerala, in that order, over a period spanning from 2005 to the first quarter of 2013. Madhya Pradesh, with 3965 incidents between 2005 and 2013 (March), has the worst record of nearly 144 incidents for every million population. The countrywide average is about 129 incidents per million population.

It is important to remind ourselves, that despite decades of suffering and suppression by India, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have not given up their hope or struggle. The draconian laws put in place by the hindu Indian government have not been able to extinguish the flame of self-determination in the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

In some villages in India, the young girls are routinely threatened, abused and killed all under Khap (tribe/clan) verdicts. It is acceptable for the families to feed pesticide pills to the teenage girls and then dispose off their bodies by burning them without any police records.
