The statistics are”astounding’ and far worse than I thought previously. Per CNN, 20% of women in India (140 million !!!!) have been raiped. This is about half the population of USA !!! UNBELIEVABLE !!!! Where has the world been? Why have all the news agencies been ducking this issue? What gives?
Per CNN statistics, 60% of men in India think that raiping and burning wife alive for dowry is acceptable. That is about 420 Million men !!!! That is more than the population of USA !!!! These statistics are out of this world and point towards a society that is indeed extremely sick.

According to the Department of Justice, over 500,000 men, women and children are raiped by Americans each year. And since 68% of American raip victims never call the police, the actual number is much higher.
Who in their right mind DOESN'T call the police after being raiped?
Two words: victim blaming.
Key words: "why women don't report rapes."
Sample questions asked by defense lawyers:
1. How much did you drink on the evening in question? Let's talk about your drug use. Did you take cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy? How much? Are you a frequent user of drugs and alcohol?
2. In fact you were very intoxicated by the time you and my client got back to his home, isn't that the case? I suggest that a lot of your memory of the events is very hazy due to your intoxication at the time, yes? Do you have a drug or alcohol problem?
3. Are you currently under the care of a psychiatrist? The court has released your medical and psychiatric records, so I'd just like to go through these notes your psychiatrist and doctor wrote about you.
4. Is this your Facebook page? Here are the photos of you posted by your friends. Here's one of you passed out at a party. There seems to be a theme here, wouldn't you say?
5. You sent quite a collection of nude photos to my client, didn't you? Here they all are, every one. You may have assumed that Snapchat photos really do disappear, but of course they don't. Do you wax or shave your puic area? And this is primarily for enhancement of se.xual pleasure for your partners, isn't that correct?
6. Can you read out what your tattoos say for the court? And piercings? How many do you have?
7. In fact you're a very experienced young woman, isn't that so? And this wasn't your first experience with rough se.x, was it? You're no stranger to edgy s.ex correct?
8. You didn't report this to the police immediately, did you? Nor do you have any photos of bruises or marks.
9. How much money do you make? Are you trying to get money out of my client?
They're getting raped more than once. And by our judicial system.
Not to mention the rape kits are invasive, and the backlog of testing them reaches into the hundreds of thousands. If they get tested at all.
Leagalized slut shaming in open court is one of the reasons many women don't come forward. They're being victimized once again.
And this is if it even gets taken seriously in the first place. Unless a woman is bleeding from every orifice, it's not taken seriously by many police departments.
Add to that, many colleges handle se.xual assaults internally, and it gets swept under the carpet. (Witness the Sandusky crimes. Multiply that by thousands of colleges which thousands of individual victims by individual perpetrators. You may get the idea. I doubt it though, because you're placing the blame on the victims instead of where it should go; with a system that makes it doubly horrifying to report these crimes in the first place.)
And please do not start with your name-calling. I am trying to give you reasons why this topic is not as cut and dried as "pick up the phone."

The ENRON corporation is doing to Indians what they did to millions of Americans: Rip them off.
There are some 2 million beggars in Delhi. Over 3 million in Mumbai. Nearly 5 million in Kolkata the beggar capital of the world. In Hyderabad one in every 254 people is engaged in begging.
It is common to find beggars at rubbish dumbs, road sides, and traffic lights and under flyovers. The frail, crippled and mentally ill share space with children, women and able bodied men.
In India, millions of girls are strangled, slowly starved or simply tossed in the trash. Moreover, in India, at least 1,370 girls are aborted every day. As a comparison, some 250 Indians die every day in road accidents. Terrorists killed about six people, on an average, every day in 2014. In the last two decades of economic debacle, 10 million girls have died as such in India.
What has happened in India is very similar to the raipe culture in Congo and Rwanda and the terrible loss of lives that could have been avoided. It is apathy at work, a perfunctoriness of sorts. A neglect to celebrate human life and respect women. Perhaps embedded in the preachings of hinduism such concepts are contrary to the underpinnings of civilized religions such as christianity.
Christians don't rape? Beg to differ.
Pretty much the entire world is mired in the rape culture. It has less to do with a particular religion andire to do with the human condition.
I don't know what the answer is, precisely, but I don't think getting rid of all religions would stop it. I just wish it would stop.
